Telephone

"TELEPHONE is just like the kids’ game. A message is whispered from one person to another and changes as it is passed. We whisper a message from art form to art form. A message could become a painting, then music, then poetry, then dance. We whisper each finished work of art to multiple artists so the game branches out exponentially."

The Physics Hypertextbook

"The Physics Hypertextbook is a reaction to the three big problems with textbooks: lack of writer's voice, layouts that reduce readability, and outdated economics. It is a work in progress. Some parts of this book are essentially finished. Some parts are comically underdone. I work on this project in my spare time. You are welcome to use this website as an educational or entertainment tool."

How to Design Programs

"The typical course on programming teaches a “tinker until it works” approach. When it works, students exclaim “It works!” and move on. Sadly, this phrase is also the shortest lie in computing, and it has cost many people many hours of their lives. In contrast, this book focuses on habits of good programming, addressing both professional and vocational programmers."

Notebook of Leonardo da Vinci ('The Codex Arundel')

Notebook of Leonardo da Vinci ('The Codex Arundel'). A collection of papers written in Italian by Leonardo da Vinci (b. 1452, d. 1519), in his characteristic left-handed mirror-writing (reading from right to left), including diagrams, drawings and brief texts, covering a broad range of topics in science and art, as well as personal notes. The core of the notebook is a collection of materials that Leonardo describes as 'a collection without order, drawn from many papers, which I have copied here, hoping to arrange them later each in its place according to the subjects of which they treat' (f. 1r), a collection he began in the house of Piero di Braccio Martelli in Florence, in 1508. To this notebook has subsequently been added a number of other loose papers containing writing and diagrams produced by Leonardo throughout his career. Decoration: Numerous diagrams.

Team Playbook

"Here's a dirty little secret: working as a team is really hard, and tools alone won't fix that. Books wax poetic about Silicon Valley dream-teams, but they don't tell you how to start improving your team. For Atlassian, the mission to unleash the potential in every team starts at home. We've developed a playbook that changed the way our teams work. Now it's yours to try, too."
