Review: The Sea Beast

A white man and a young black girl, along with a small blue monster, are in a row boat looking around tentatively. Behind them, filling the frame are the eyes and nostrils of a huge red creature. The oocupants of the boat are unaware of its presence.

The Sea Beast on Netflix is an absolute gem of a film. Lots of heart, a brilliant voice cast (Jared Harris!), stunning animation (seriously, the scene at 41:00 gave me shivers), and an Alien reference that made me laugh cry so much I had to pause the film while I recovered.

Well worth checking out.
