I am USER, hear me roar!
We published a great article by Chris Heilmann over the weekend. I am USER, hear me roar!. An impassioned plea on behalf of users everywhere.
Hi there, you want me, I know you do. You got something to sell or you want to be heard, or you want to share. In any case - you need me. To make matters worse, you don't know anything about me.
I could be old, young, boy, girl, man, woman, handicapped or fully abled. I can choose from a great variety of means to use the internet and technology to control it, and you don't stand much chance to know what I use.
If you're interested in the thought processes that your users go through, and why you may be (inadvertently) pissing them off, I strongly recommend that you have a read.

evolt.org Goodness
Busy little day down at the evolt.org paddock...
The chumpbot based spoolarama for #evolt (on freenode fact fans) is now being indexed by google. Thanks in main to emkay's great work with the XSLT templates, meaning that we're serving XHTML instead of vanilla XML.
Of course I have to declare a vested interest as I built the CSS, so if it looks shit, that's my fault.
We've also just had confirmation that the UK Mirror Service will be acting as a mirror for the evolt.org browser archive. Thanks to neuro and John for getting them interested in the first place.
Happy Birthday evolt.org
evolt.org celebrated our 5th birthday yesterday.
Elfur , Stef and Joel have written some articles to commemorate the event and to look forward to what the future may hold.
Here's to another 5 years.

#evolt IRC Primer
IRC (Internet Relay Chat) has been around since about 1988. It's a real time talk system where people can gather together in various channels (think of them as virtual rooms) and talk about whatever interests them. Each channel has a name which usually outlines its main topic of conversation.
